EWG | healthy apps everyone should have
If there is one website that I refer health and environmentally concerned people to the most, it’s EWG.ORG. This has been one of the most powerful tools in shifting my NATIVE clients to cleaner grooming products and healthier snacks, through their apps that are worth your consideration.
EWG, The Environmental Working Group is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to protecting human health and the environment. Through this mission, they’ve created the world’s largest database and scoring system for both food and cosmetics. Both grade: ingredients, preservatives, and toxicity to the human body as well as the environment. And they both so conveniently have their own user-friendly apps complete with barcodes so you can quickly check those old trusted products and food before throwing them in your cart next time.
The two free apps every phone should download
SKIN DEEP | EWG’s Skin Deep® Cosmetics Database is the world's largest safety reference tool for personal-care products. When you know what chemicals are in the products you bring into your home and how they may affect your health and the environment, you can make informed purchasing decisions — and help transform the marketplace.
FOOD SCORES | EWG’s Food Scores houses information on tens of thousands of foods in a simple, searchable online format designed to guide consumers to healthy, affordable food that’s good for people and the planet.
