Sweet Lady Cook | Arian Blanco
Preserves take me back to a simpler time. Summers barefoot on my grandparents’ ranch, waking up at six am from the gentle tapping of sprinklers on my window. Heading out to help collect eggs from the chicken coop, swinging the day away in the shade during the hot valley days. But most memorable my grandfather's fresh biscuits. They could lure anyone in from outside play. Following the scent would lead you to the ranch table where you'd be met by fresh scrambled eggs, warm biscuits and honey from the ranch bees, or a fresh preserve.
Sweet Lady Cook recreates these memories for me. When opening her Clementine & Sea Salt Marmalade, I couldn’t resist baking fresh bread to compliment this perfectly designed, palate-beaming product. Meet Arian Blanco of Sweet lady Cook.
WHAT INSPIRED SWEET LADY COOK
It was actually a homemade habanero jelly that inspired my love for preserves. Prior to this I’d only been familiar with the processed and overly sweet jams and jellies I grew up with. I had no idea how wonderful and versatile preserves could be. I began experimenting with local ingredients and giving away jars to friends and family. When people kept asking for more I decided it was time to turn my hobby into a business.
MY FAVORITE INGREDIENT IN MY PRODUCT IS
I feel like I should say something cheesy like love or passion but my favorite ingredient in all of my preserves is the fruit. I put a lot of time and effort into establishing relationships with local farmers and searching out the highest quality organic fruit. I think this is what makes my product unique.
